Lindsay's Going on a Mission!

Well the long anticipated letter finally came in the mail and Lindsay is going to be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Reno, Nevada mission.  She reports to the MTC on February 5, 2014.  Her mission will cover most of Nevada, including Lake Tahoe.  I wonder how she will do living in the snow!  She has always said she wanted to live where it snowed.....now is her chance!  :)  I know she will do a great job and Reno is lucky to get to work with her.  I am so proud of her and her decision to go!  Love that girl!! 

Delicious Sugar Cookies!

SUGAR COOKIES!

Who doesn't love a good sugar cookie?!!  These sugar cookies have to be the best ever!  They turn out perfect every time and you can even use cookie cutters with a lot of little pieces and it will hold its shape without breaking.  LOVE it!  Give it a try!

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 T. cream or milk
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
3 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs and milk.  Mix well.  Combine remaining ingredients and mix well.  Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick.  Cut out into desired shapes.  Bake at 400 for 5-7 minutes.  Frost with your favorite icing and bring me over a bunch!  (It's in the directions, so you have to follow the directions exactly or they won't turn out!)  Seriously delicious!  Enjoy!

 

Stake Cub Scout Day Camp - Yee Haw!!

I don't think I ever posted pictures of the Cub Scout Day Camp we had earlier in the year.  It was a cowboy and Indian themed camp that was held at my sister Kristin's house in Chandler.  She lives on a farm and has an arena for the horses to run so it was the perfect place to have it.  We had the stake presidency ride in on horses to start the camp.  They were very good sports to do that!  We also had two real teepees from a Navajo Indian who lives in my sisters ward and let us use them.  They were soooooooo cool!  We actually had our Thanksgiving dessert in it with a fire at night time.  It was awesome!!  :-)  All of the boys had a great time and said it was the best one they had ever been to. My sister Kristin was SO nice in letting 200+ cub scouts invade her house!!!

Ashley and Josh got married!
