Girls Day Out - Spa Day!

We decided to have an early Christmas present and go to the spa!  Since my mom is back in town, all of us girls decided to go get a pedicure.  When you first walk in, they have you pick out your color and mom picked out the same color she has worn since I can remember - a mauve, sort of pinkish color.  Well the girls were not having any of that boring stuff - they picked out a HOT PINK color for Grandma!  They also told them to bling her up and so they did!  Mom was a good sport about it and I think she secretly likes the color too!  ;o)  All of my girls and Kristin and her girls came with my mom.  SUPER FUN day!!  We need to make this an annual event!

CTR Ring - Ouch!

Here is a fun picture from a couple of years ago.  Lindsay was going through her "memories box" - a box I keep of all of their stuff since they were born, and she came across a CTR ring she had received when she was baptized.  She thought it was so cute and put it on her finger.  Next thing you know....it's stuck and we can't get it off.  She tried for hours hiding it from us, but then it started swelling up and getting all red so she finally came clean and asked for help.  We tried everything from oil to peanut butter to ice and nothing worked to get this ring off her finger.  Needless to say, we ended up going to the Emergency Room to have it cut off her finger.  All of the emergency room staff got a good laugh out of it and we did too.  Glad she got it off!  How ironic that it was a CTR ring.  Maybe she thought the initials stood for Choose the Rong.

Thanksgiving Dinner

We had an awesome turkey dinner this year.  We bought a new electric smoker and smoked the turkey this year.  Turned out sooooo good!  Grandma Z and Kirsten came over this year for dinner.  Hailey made the name tags.  I don't know where she comes up with these ideas, but they are pretty cute!  I was not feeling very well at all on Thanksgiving day and took a long nap after dinner then bundled up in a nice warm blanket, turned off all of the lights and watched an awesome movie with my family.  It turned out to be a great day, even though I wasn't feeling well.  I love my family!!

Sleeping Indian

Here's a cute little picture of my little sleeping Indian Lindsay.  She LOVED her Indian headband she made in preschool and wouldn't take it off.  She was such a cute little kid....what happened?  (Just kidding Lindsay!!)  How could I NOT post a cute little Indian picture at Thanksgiving time?!!  Thanks for all of your help Lindsay with Thanksgiving dinner.  You're the best!

Tempe Hyundai Gig - Part II

So I found a couple of pictures Tempe Hyundai took of the event we did a few weeks ago.  Unfortunately they took a ton of pictures of the car but only two pictures showed our stuff.  What's with that?!!  You would think they were trying to sell their car and not focus on the decorations.  ;o)  haha!!

Anyway, you can see the dipped strawberries better and also the lighted towers we have in the background.  The towers are right in front of their new car. We didn't have any pictures of the awesome tables we had set up outside either - bummer because they were CUTE!

Rough day!

Last week I was asked by my regional manager to go help decorate the room at the Royal Palms Resort again in Phoenix.  LOVE, LOVE that resort!  I've been to a lot of resorts for work meetings and this is by far the prettiest resort I've ever seen.  Well she also asked if I could help with a meeting down in Tucson at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort using a "space theme."  What a miserable experience that was going down there yesterday!  First off they said the room would be ready at 3:00 for me to come down.  I was there at 4:00 thinking I would just get all of the binders set out and room decorated and go home so I would be done no later than 6:00.  Wishful thinking.  The room was still a mess from the last group that was in the room and they didn't even start cleaning up or setting up the room until around 8:15.  NOT a happy girl!!  Not only that, the rooms were typical conference rooms - blah and boring with UGLY burnt orange color tablecloths.  Needless to say, they had to go as I was using a blue and silver color scheme so we had them change out all of the linens to black.  I would never recommend that resort to anyone.  Ashley was sweet and volunteered to be with me on this road trip.  We didn't get home until 11:00 PM.   I think I'm done helping with regional meetings for awhile!  Hopefully they will not be having any more here in the Phoenix area for awhile!

I didn't get any pictures taken of the room, but it sure turned out cute!  We had blue and silver stars everywhere along with some pictures I got from NASA on the walls.  The welcome bags I made up had Buzz Lightyear holding a can of Similac saying "To Infinity & Beyond".

Stake Youth Conference - USC

We had Stake Youth Conference today and we got to help out with the decorations for it.  We got to use our disco ball!!  How FUN is that?!!  The kids loved it and in fact, I think the leaders might have liked it just a little bit more than the kids even!  ;o)  Brought back a lot of memories from when we went to stake dances!  The theme of the conference was "USC" - University of Strong & Courage.  There were a ton of kids there - at least 300 kids.  It started at 7:00 am this morning and finished at 10:00 PM for the dance.  There will be a fireside tomorrow to end it all.  They did an amazing job planning it and you can tell that everyone was having a great time!  The decorations were for the dance and they served cookies & water.  Of course they wanted to eat our centerpieces - huge marshmallows, mints & oreo cookies!  Love the little disco balls having from the shephard hooks above the tables too as well as the small disco balls in our garland on the table.  So fun and they looked so cute!
